Our Advantage

Our School in a Snapshot

As-Sadiq Islamic School (OASIS) is a faith-based community school that follows the Islamic

Shia Ithna Asheri School of thought. Created in 1993, the school has been in operation for 30 years and is home to more than 740 students ranging from a toddler program up to Grade 12. The school has a rich heritage of providing excellent education in an Islamic environment.

What makes As-Sadiq Islamic School Unique?

At As-Sadiq Islamic School, our goal is to educate children, in the best of academic traditions, using a curriculum complying with the Ontario Ministry of Education and Training’s academic goals and achievement standards.

Our school is structured to allow the students to involve their parents in their school life and school work. We are blessed to impart religious and moral education, according to the principles of the Ja’fari Islamic faith, so as to inculcate in the students an integrated Islamic personality. To meet this goal, students receive instruction in Islamic Studies, Qur’an recitation and memorization, salat and remembrance of special Islamic events/holidays. The curriculum is fully integrated with Islamic perspectives, including knowledge, history, traditions and values, and the students receive daily reinforcement in Islamic personality traits and moral ethics.

As Canadian Muslims,  we proudly promote universally accepted values of tolerance, mutual understanding, peace and good citizenship in our school. Recognizing that  no two children are identical,  we are pleased to have an effective school program that responds to this diversity with a curriculum that aims to meet individual differences and maximize each student’s potential.

Our commitment to community

“Mankind were a single community ..” (Baqarah: 213)

Allah reminds us that we are one nation and we must break the shackles of a me-centric mindset

The As-Sadiq Islamic School family consists of Shia Muslims from all over the Greater Toronto Area from various cultural backgrounds, connected through our faith and commitment to our faith, educational and cultural communities.

Our students often participate in several annual events at religious centres such as the Jaffari Community Centre, private and public schools and other avenues where we participate, reflect and celebrate our commonalities. We are proud of the many student-led projects and fundraising drives that touch the lives of others in our communities in Vaughan and beyond.
