The Government of Canada announced that the 2024 charitable donation deadline has been extended from Dec 321, 2024, to Feb 28, 2025. This means that donations made until the end of February would qualify for a 2024 charitable tax receipt.

We direct 100% of the eligible funds we receive towards your child’s education and school facilities.With your financial support last year, we hired more teachersupgraded our math and French curriculumsimproved the school’s wireless network, and refreshed our facilities.

The results from parent surveys and focus groups are clear: we must invest to elevate our school to the next level. In the near-term, you have asked for enrichment of math, science, English, and Islamic Studies curricula; strengthening remedial program for students; recruiting and retaining top teaching talent; and continuing to enhance our facilities.

  1. We can accept donations through your company’s United Way campaign.

As-Sadiq Islamic School is a registered charity and can accept donations through your annual workplace United Way campaigns – either one-time or through a payroll deduction.Both are eligible for a full tax deduction.Simply select “As-Sadiq Islamic Schools” from the available options (registration # 141034959 RR 0001).

Please consider contributing even a portion of your Khums to As-Sadiq this year to help us enhance your child’s school experience.

‘Khums’ means ‘one-fifth’. In Islamic law, it refers to an obligatory (wajib) religious tax which one must pay on several things, the most common of which is surplus income from earnings and gains. The amount of khums one must pay on surplus income is 20%.
