About Us:
As-Sadiq Islamic School (OASIS) is a faith-based community school that was founded in 1994 and has built a reputation of being a top tier school. Our philosophy has always been to offer a superlative education in a safe, nurturing Islamic environment. We believe education is the foundation for the growth and success of the children in our community. Our school has grown over the past 30+ years and is now home to just over 750 students from the K-12.
We have an amazing and dedicated staff who continuously go above and beyond for our school and our students. OASIS has a robust administrative structure with two vice principals, department heads at the various educational levels and subject leads. Our team has been with us for many years and work together to continue building on the culture we have created at the school – one of excellence, inclusivity, and family. We also have a Director of Religious Affairs who works alongside the administration to help maintain the religious spirit within the school. We have strong community support which has allowed for the opportunity to build a school that will provide our children with all their needs to achieve success.

Position Summary:
As the Principal, you will be the chief educational leader responsible for the overall administration and management of the school. You will work closely with staff, students, and the community to promote an environment of learning, respect, and spiritual growth. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to Islamic values, particularly within the Shia Ithna-asheri tradition, while fostering an inclusive atmosphere where all students can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide visionary leadership and direction for the school’s academic programs.
- Ensure the school environment reflects the values and teachings of the Shia Ithna-asheri faith.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to create and implement innovative and effective teaching strategies.
- Manage day-to-day school operations, including budgeting, staffing, and curriculum development.
- Foster relationships with parents, students, and the broader community to support student development.
- Uphold and promote Islamic ethics, discipline, and respect within the school environment.
- Ensure adherence to educational policies, procedures, and regulations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A Master’s degree in Education or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) Certificate or equivalent and be in good standing with the college.
- Completed the Principal Qualifications Courses (PQP’s) or equivalent
- Strong understanding of Shia Ithna-asheri Faith, Islamic values and practices.
- 10 years of teaching experience in a Canadian school which follows a provincial curriculum. Knowledge and experience working in both the elementary and secondary panels of education would be an asset.
- Must have knowledge of the inspection process and be able to meet the expectations set out by the Ontario Ministry of Education to grant credits towards an Ontario Secondary School Diploma an asset.
- Knowledge and experience with the Ontario Ministry of Education regulations and protocols.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage and inspire a diverse team of educators.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful school environment.
- A current Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) by local police.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Vice Principal to join our leadership team. The Vice Principal will support the Principal in overseeing the school’s day-to-day operations, curriculum development, and student welfare. The ideal candidate will be passionate about educational leadership and committed to fostering a school environment grounded in Shia Ithna-asheri values, while also promoting inclusivity and respect for all individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Principal in managing the overall operations of the school.
- Help develop and implement curriculum and instructional programs in line with the school’s mission.
- Oversee student discipline and ensure the maintenance of a respectful, supportive, and faith-driven environment.
- Support and mentor teachers, providing guidance on educational practices and Shia Ithna-asheri principles.
- Collaborate with parents, students, and staff to address school-related issues and ensure student success.
- Participate in the recruitment, training, and evaluation of school staff.
- Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and strategic plans that align with the school’s objectives and values.
Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in Education or related field.
- Valid teaching certification.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in educational leadership or teaching, ideally in a faith-based or Islamic school environment.
- Strong understanding of Shia Ithna-asheri Islamic teachings and values.
- Proven leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.
