Literacy Year: December 2023 Books Recommendations
This year, we are celebrating literacy in our school and we look forward to sharing a variety of texts available in our school library that we use in our classrooms and that are highly recommended by our late Director of Religious Affairs, Marhum Syed Asad Jafri.
Please recite a surah fateha for Marhum Syed Asad Jafri who thrived on learning and imparting knowledge to all ages.
Our students read and reflect upon a rich variety of text, which helps in building proficiency in the understanding of the language and translates into strong verbal and written communication skills.
We are pleased to share our book recommendations for December 2023.

Why are we celebrating Literacy at As-Sadiq Islamic School?
Central to a student’s emotional and intellectual growth, literacy and language development are key components of the Ontario curriculum. The Ontario language curriculum is designed to support students in developing the language and literacy knowledge and skills they need to succeed in education and in life, and to encourage students to experience the joy and possibility that literacy learning can ignite.
Remember to follow us on social media where we share our recommendations regularly!
