Introducing our Incoming Director of Religious Affairs (DRA)

2023-2024 was a very difficult year for the school with the sudden passing of our beloved Marhum Syed Asad Jafri.  It was important for the school community to be given a chance to heal. In consultation with Maulana Rizvi, we decided to not fill the position of DRA for the remainder of the school year 2023-24.

As we prepare for the new 2024-25 school year, it’s with great thankfulness to Allah that we introduce our new Director of Religious Affairs, Syed Mohammad Ali Najafi.

Syed Mohammad was born and raised in Denmark and has strong roots in Pakistan, where he spent most of his summers during his childhood. From his early years, he had a strong desire to serve the community, reciting Nohas and Manqabats often. After his teenage years, he travelled to Qum and then to Najaf to pursue his religious education.  He has traveled to many countries and is proficient in seven languages.

Syed Mohammad visited our school last spring and feedback from him as well as from students, staff and parents was overwhelmingly positive.  At that time, we also learned of his passion for soccer, which made him an instant favourite amongst our students. He shares a particular love for the youth of the community, and we have found this to be an essential quality for this role.

Let us warmly welcome Syed Mohammad Ali Najafi to our As-Sadiq family and pray for his success as we work together to help raise our kids to be proud Shia Muslims who will inshallah be the future leaders of our wonderful community.
