As we begin a new school year, we are delighted to warmly welcome Ms. Lee Burnie as our new Vice Principal from September 2023.
Ms. Burnie brings 30 years of teaching experience to As-Sadiq Islamic School and a wealth of experience in training teachers in leadership, all of which will be an asset for our staff. With an impeccable career in the Catholic school board, Ms. Burnie has served as vice principal and principal in various schools and has a deep passion for education and the success of all learners.
Prior to joining As-Sadiq Islamic School, Ms. Burnie worked at the Toronto Catholic District School Board for 34 years and 12 years in an administrative role.
We asked Ms. Burnie a few questions, to help you get to know her better, and this is what she shared:

Dr. Fayaaz Jaffer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees is delighted that Ms. Burnie is joining us: “I, along with the Board of Trustees, the administration team, teachers and staff, are very much looking forward to working with Ms. Burnie as we take the school forward together in its future developments.”
Ms. Burnie replaces Ms. Pavan, whom we want to extend a warm thank you to as our outgoing vice principal. Ms. Pavan, who has been instrumental in our school’s success, remains at As-Sadiq Islamic School as our new curriculum coordinator dedicated to enhancing our academic curriculum on all fronts.
