As-Sadiq Islamic School marked World Teachers’ Day – a day to celebrate and appreciate our incredible, compassionate, hardworking and committed teachers – the core and foundation of our school – on Friday, October 4, 2024 through various activities. Teachers at As-Sadiq and around the world are transforming education and shaping the future by imparting knowledge, inspiring young minds and nurturing generations.

Since our school was created more than 30 years ago, we’ve been blessed to Alhamdullilah work with the world’s best educators across our preschool, Montessori, elementary and high school programs. It is indeed a noble profession and for that, we want to share a heartfelt thank you to our former and current teachers and educators!

How did we celebrate the day?

We had a great day showering our teachers with much appreciation in numerous ways:

  • We began the day with breakfast, including coffee and bagels for all our staffs in honour of this day from the Board of Directors and gift cards for teachers from our Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
  • We ended the day with a special guest on our PA system – the Chair of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Fayaaz Jaffer, who addressed the entire school and shared the Board’s appreciation of all our staff. Dr. Jaffer spoke about how our staff always go the extra mile for all our students daily to make sure our students are given the very best in education and experiences during their school day. Students were invited to recite a Salawaat for our teachers and staff and say thank you to our staff and to remember them in their duas and prayers.Dr. Jaffer thanked all the staff, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, for their dedication in the upbringing of our children to be amazing global citizens and lovers of the Ahlulbayt (AS). Dr. Jaffer also gave each staff an Above and Beyond award for all that our staff do.

Islam holds our teachers at a very high level

“The right of the one who trains you (sa’is) through knowledge is magnifying him, respecting his sessions, listening well to him, and attending to him with devotion.” A timely Hadith from the Treatise on Rights by our fourth Imam, Imam Zayn al-‘Abidin.

A heartfelt thank you to all our teachers for their hard work, dedication, sacrifice, love and care and everything they do!

We pray to Allah (SWT) to shower His infinite mercy and blessings on all our teachers and their families today and always.

While this is a celebratory day and occasion, we encourage everyone to continue to pray for all those suffering around the world.
